Annika Schlitte obtained a doctoral degree in philosophy at the Ruhr University Bochum with a dissertation on Georg Simmel’s Philosophy of Money in 2010. After that she was research assistant (2011-2013), postdoc research fellow and speaker of the Interdisciplinary Research Academy “Philosophy of Place“ at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (2013-2016). In 2015 she spent a research stay at Stony Brook University, New York. From 2016 to 2020, she was Junior Professor for Social Philosophy and Philosophy of Culture at Johannes Gutenberg-University, Mainz, before she was appointed Professor of Philosophy at the University of Greifswald in October 2020. Her research focuses on aesthetics, philosophy of culture, phenomenology and hermeneutics.
