Dr. Basil Wiesse has been working as a research assistant at the chair for process-oriented sociology at KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt since April 2014. He acquired his PhD in 2020 with a thesis on affect theory and situationist sociology (“Situation und Affekt”, Velbrück 2020). His general research focus lies in sociological theory with an emphasis on ethnomethodological theorizing, and in qualitative methods especially for researching digital fields of practice. In his habilitation project (working title: “exploitation in the constitution of digital practice”) he investigates the constitutive role of digital manipulation of boundaries through exploits and exploiting in information security practices.
